United Manganese of Kalahari (‘UMK‘) has appointed OpenTRD (‘Daedalis‘), a cloud-based trade hub that connects buyers with suppliers to facilitate the collection and processing of all UMK-approved vendors’ statutory business documents. The documents outlined below are essential compliance documents for the UMK entity to engage in business with the vendors.
UMK will no longer be using the internal legacy supplier application form; instead ensure your company is active on OpenTRD.
Vendors are therefore requested to cooperate with OpenTRD by making the required documents available either by uploading them directly to the OpenTRD platform or by emailing them to neal@daedalis.com.
Failure to comply with this request may potentially disrupt the business activity between UMK and the vendor.
Existing and active suppliers, please make sure to complete this exercise by 5pm on the 24th of April 2026. by using the links and resources below.
For potential new suppliers and old-inactive suppliers, onboard your business onto OpenTRD (free of charge). This will gain you access to applicable requests from UMK and other companies that subscribe to OpenTRD via their hub portal. OpenTRD is there to help and guide you through every step; from successfully registering and train you to manging your business to receiving applicable RFx opportunities and completing submissions.

2. Alternatively, should you be unable to access the OpenTRD platform, you may email the latest documents via neal@daedalis.com and cc ndivhuho@daedalis.com.
3. The documents required include:
a) Company CIPC documents
b) Valid B-BBEE certificate
c) Valid letter of good standing (COIDA)
d) SARS Tax pin
